First photo of the day. Took this to tune my camera’s aperture and shutter speed settings for the day. Its only a two minute walk away from home. All the snow is melting and the roads are lined with sludge. Oh boy, don’t I just love this transitional period. I’m being sarcastic btw.

Halfway there to the lake. Found these two little birbs enjoying a morning treat.

Got a little hungry so stopped for a bagel. They had diary-free cheese!

First thing I saw after getting to the lake. A lot of fisherman camping. The temp was hovering above 0 for the whole week so I’m surprised the lake hasn’t melted even a bit. Its 3c today.

Worst part about the path along the lake was the gravel road. At least, it was supposed to be gravel, but all we saw was snow. If it was just snow, it would’ve been fine, but the day before it was like 10 degrees, so all the snow melted overnight and froze. Making the ground a slippery block of ice with a 20m fall into the lake on the left. Thinking there wouldn’t be any ice I wore my comfort shoes for the first time since winter started. Should’ve just worn my trusty winter boots after all.

Benches, benches…

Even more benches!

Kempenfelt Bay dragon statue.

Mandatory picture of the spirit catcher. For as uninteresting as it is, its the definitive sign saying we’re in the middle of Downtown.

I’ve always liked the window colours of this building. The teal goes well with the dark orange bricks.

One of the coolest looking buildings in town. I like the yellow accent lines.

The docks look so empty. Their aesthetic looks right out of a space ship honestly.

More empty space ship docks and cool buildings. You can easily tell which buildings are newer.
That concludes the walk. It was quite short. Only about 6km in total. We rested a little bit at a nearby coffee shop called the Bohemia. Of course in the name of tradition, I had a hot chocolate.
After that we continued on towards the shopping part of the city because I needed to buy some groceries. Buses were scarce since weekend service is pretty limited. So we ended up walking there too. +3kms to the count.

Took this last photo on the way there. It was almost mid day by then so the clouds finally parted. I would’ve gotten much better photos if it had gotten less gloomy earlier, but you make do with what you’ve got.
