i knew it. I fucking knew it all along. This is one of those shows. The kind that transcend their place in the isekai sphere of shows and earns its place among the big leagues of anime. The way the story unfolds, the depth of the characters, and even the oddly compelling harem we’ve got going on, it all just works. And this is coming from a self-proclaimed harem hater. Hell, I’m actually glad the guy’s getting that much attention from so many girls with as much development. Gimme more!

Now, one thing I need to clarify, this show doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It doesn’t lean into the grounded realism you’d find in something like Grimgar or Monster. But it also doesn’t dive headfirst into the absurdity and anime bullshit you find in shows like Konosuba or Kill la Kill. It finds this sweet spot, something closer to what Heavenly Delusion or Gintama pulls off. It mixes its anime tropes with just enough restraint, grounding the story when it needs to be serious and slowing down just enough in key moments to let things land. It respects my suspension of disbelief without breaking it.

I really like this show. I knew I would before I even started. The only reason I held off is because there’s not enough of it. Only four seasons? Come on, man, that’s not enough! I’m still salty about Oshi no Ko not having a sequel yet, and don’t even get me started on the GOAT Heavenly Delusion. I know I’m being greedy, but sometimes you can’t help it. There just isn’t enough of the good stuff.
