I loved this way more than I expected to. While it definitely leans into that sloppy, mid isekai fantasy aesthetic, the characters and the humor especially are absolutely immaculate. The show possesses a unique charm and its own distinct flavor of comedy that it just rolls around in. It’s like lathering yourself in butter and walking outside shirtless. It’s embarrassing, sure, but you have to look at that guy and think, ‘That’s one hell of a dude to be out like that.’ That is exactly the vibe here. The entire Almond Oil and thunder dragon arc had me laughing my guts out. Once the characters and premise were fully established, the comedy just kept hitting harder.
This has so much of that Overlord and Eminence in Shadow energy with an amazingly executed character that doesn’t feel too dumb. Which is rare in these types of parody shows.
