Watched this at the theater with vibrating seats. One of the best decisions I’ve made this year honestly. It was literally a jaw dropping experience. The fight with Upper Three was fucking livid. Couple that with the amazing soundtrack and we’ve got the cinematic equivalent of taking a flight.
Ruling out the amazing music and battle animation, the story… it’s more demon slayer I guess. No surprises there. I didn’t really connect with them and I didn’t expect to.
It’s just that the writing feels so cheap. I went on a hour long conversation with one of my movie buddies about it too. You’re in a middle of a quite serious battle and bam you’re in a flashback. Plus what I hate is how all the lore is dropped and paid off in one scene sequence. There’s no hints, there’s and no foreshadowing. Everything is done at the same time. It’s like the writer just makes shit up right when a character is about to die to make us care about them.
